1960 Jaguar XK150 FHC
An opportunity to become the next custodian of one of Jaguars rarest XK150 fixed head coupes.
Chassis number S825218 is noted in the factory Jaguar records as one of just 6 RHD coupes with disc wheels and rear spats produced.
Featured in the collectors book “The Jaguar XK in Australia” by John Elmgreen and Terry McGrath published in 1985 and limited to just 1000 copies, this XK150 is also documented in the Paul Skilleter book “The Jaguar XK’s”and is referenced as one of the rarest to exist. A copy of this book is included as is a copy of the magazine “Jaguar Heritage Archive” which the car appears in.
The cars earliest history can be traced back to the first registration, in May of 1960 when delivered by Henly’s Manchester bearing UK registration mark OVG399. The original first registration papers and owners manual accompany a very comprehensive history file, covering the cars life to date.
The original first issued UK number plates are still fitted to the car and are active in the state of NSW.
During the Jaguars first 12 years the XK150 changed owners a number of times before being purchased once again by its 3rd owner in 1972, who subsequently brought the Jaguar to Australia in 1976.
Four caring owners in Australia since, with the last long term owner, a devoted fanatical Jaguar enthusiast commissioning a restoration by marque specialists Coventry garage beginning in 2003. A photographic file and all receipts reveal the scope of a thorough mechanical refurbishment including engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, steering as well as a sympathetic interior and body refurbishment.
A Jaguar Daimler Heritage trust certificate accompanies the car noting engine, chassis, body and transmission numbers all match as does the original Sherwood green exterior and suede green interior including annotation - Disc wheels and spats.
